More than 50 software developers participated in the first Gender-based Violence (GBV) Hackathon organised by the NUST Faculty of Computing and Informatics, Namibia Women in Computing Society, Google Developers Group Windhoek and the Office of the First Lady in Windhoek last week.

The Namibia Business Innovation Institute (NBII) offered an interactive training workshop for start-ups recently, with support from the Civil Engineering Department, where 11 entrepreneurs received training and mentorship in sustainable sanitation, water and resource management.

The overall winners of this year’s Namibia Business Innovation Institute’s (NBII) Business Idea Competition are Jesaya Mwandingi and Rusten Katjangua who were singled out for their exceptional innovative thinking. They were the winners out of a total of ten aspiring entrepreneurs who received prizes ranging from laptops and cash to data storage devices that are set to boost their businesses.
